Ok, I'm listening.
I've historically had a problem with Kilroy-Silk, the face of the UK Independence Party. I didn't like the cut of his jib (an important point I am sure we can all agree). However, like a lost sailor drawn to the haunting sound of the siren I find myself strangely attracted by his song:
Robert Kilroy-Silk, the former Labour MP turned daytime TV star, returned to his old Westminster haunts yesterday to warn the "metropolitan political elite" that the UK Independence party intends to defeat the European superstate and "change the face of British politics forever".No! Snap out of it! Put your hands over your ears - Ed.In a speech which deftly mixed self-deprecating humour and combative politics with lacerating attacks on "lying politicians" and "lazy, sloppy" media, Mr Kilroy-Silk repeatedly predicted that an angry and betrayed electorate is poised to overthrow the "old politics" and that he intends to be its instrument.
I can't, it's soooo beautiful.
